News: Logistics Data Bank recently achieved the milestone of tracking 10 crore export-import containers since its launch in 2016.
About Logistics Data Bank (LDB)

- Logistics Data Bank (LDB) is a technology-based platform that provides visibility of Export-Import (EXIM) container movement across the logistics chain.
- Launch: It was launched in 2016.
- LDB 2.0 was launched in September 2025.
- Nodal Ministry: Ministry of Commerce and Industry
- Implementing Agencies: It is implemented by National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Logistics Data Services Limited (N-LDSL), a joint venture between the Government of India and Japan’s NEC Corporation.
- Objective: Its objective is to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance efficiency in the Indian logistics sector and provide visibility of EXIM container movement.
- Key Features:
- Complete Coverage: LDB provides visibility of 100% of India’s EXIM container movement across 19 ports, 32 container terminals and other logistics locations.
- Digital Tracking: It uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data and Cloud technologies for near real-time container tracking.
- Performance Analytics: The platform provides data on dwell time, transit time, and port and terminal performance to monitor operations and identify bottlenecks.
- Single-Window Platform: Its container tracking services are available through a single-window platform.
