• Location: Kosovo is a landlocked self-declared independent country located in the Balkans region of Europe.
• Bordering countries: It is bordered by Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro.
  • It is the smallest country in the Balkans.
• Capital: Pristina is the capital and largest city.
• Climate: Its climate is mostly continental.
• Geography:  The borders of Kosovo are largely mountainous, characterized by sharp peaks and narrow valleys.
  • Mountains:  The main mountain ranges include the Sharr Mountains along the southern border with North Macedonia and the Kopaonik Mountains along the northeastern border with Serbia.
    • The western edge of the country is distinguished by the Albanian Alps.
  • Rivers:
    • The Kosovo Plain is drained by the Sitnica River, a tributary of the Ibar River.
    • The Dukagjin Plain is drained by the White Drin.
  • Lakes: It has various large artificial lakes such as Gaziovoda Lake, Radoniq Lake, Lake Batllava, Badovc Lake, Fierza Reservoir and Mitrovica Lake.
