The 51^st Edition of the EPIC Magazine is here!

The Focus Article of EPIC July 2024 covers the Union Budget 2024-25. The Budget has been praised by Economists for its focus on the long-term growth of the economy while practicing fiscal prudence. The Budget has kept the provision of the Capital Expenditure unchanged from the Interim Budget, while lowering the Fiscal Deficit target to 4.9% of the GDP (5.1% in the Interim Budget). Reviving Agriculture growth, Creating employment and skilling opportunities for the youth, Manufacturing, Infrastructure are among the priority areas of the Government.

However, there has been criticism for lower allocation to the Social welfare sector. Private sector will have to play a big role in creation of jobs in the economy and Government initiatives alone won’t prove enough. Hence, the Government has to look beyond the Budget to facilitate investments by the private sector and revive the demand in the rural economy. We have covered all these aspects in detail.
