  • Key Highlights of Global Gender Gap Index 2026
    • Global Outcome:
      • Global Parity: Global gender parity reached 69.2%, showing that a significant gender gap remains.
      • Top Countries: Iceland retained the first position, followed by Finland and Norway.
      • Lowest Rank: Chad was the lowest-ranked country.
    • India’s Performance:
      • Overall Rank: India ranked 131st with an overall gender parity score of 64.5%, the same rank as in 2025.
      • Dimension Scores: India scored 41.2% in Economic Participation and Opportunity, 96.6% in Educational Attainment, and 95.6% in Health and Survival.
      • Political Empowerment: India recorded 24.5% in Political Empowerment and ranked 67th globally in this dimension.
      • Professional Workers: Professional and technical worker parity increased from 26.6% in 2006 to 49.9% in 2026.
