About Namya River
- Namya River is a transboundary river flowing between Manipur in India and Myanmar.
- It drains into the Yu River, which is a major tributary of the Chindwin River basin.
- Strategic importance: It flows along the Indo-Myanmar border in the Kamjong districts of Manipur.
- Note: Manipur shares 398 km of the 1,643-km-long border with Myanmar, and most stretches have remained porous, allowing cross-border militants and criminals to carry out unlawful activities.
