  • Launched by: The project was launched Leonardo DiCaprio’s Re:wild and the Bezos Earth Fund, with support from, Age of Union and the Todd Graves Family Foundation.
  • Partners: The project works with the IUCN Species Survival Commission as the global knowledge partner.
  • Funding: The initiative begins with a $200 million commitment, making it the largest single philanthropic initiative dedicated only to recovering threatened species.
  • Target Categories: The project focuses on species listed as Critically Endangered (CR) or Extinct in the Wild (EW) on the IUCN Red List.
  • Species Coverage: The project covers mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, fish, invertebrates, and plants across diverse habitats.
  • Recovery Measures: It supports conservation breeding, head-starting, translocations, disease management, non-native species control, and habitat restoration.
  • Collaborative Approach: Recovery plans are tailored to each species and location through collaborates with Indigenous Peoples, local communities, scientists, conservationists, and governments.
