About Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme

  • Type: It is a World Bank-supported central sector scheme. 
  • Nodal Ministry: It is being implemented by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME) over the five-year period 2022-23 to 2026-27.
  • Aim: The scheme aims to scale up the implementation capacity and coverage of MSMEs with impact enhancement of existing MSME schemes by:
    • fostering innovation, encouraging ideation, improving practices and processes
    • enhancing market access
    • promoting greening initiatives
    • scaling up guarantees to women-owned micro and small enterprises etc.
  • It also aims at promoting Centre-State collaboration by providing grants to States for preparation of Strategic Investment Plan (SIP), which is a roadmap developed by the respective State/UT for development of the MSME sector in the State.
  • It provides grants to States/UTs for implementing selected projects in the SIP.
  • It receives result- based funding from the World Bank. 

About Trade Enablement and Access to Market (TEAM) Initiative

    • It is a sub-scheme under the RAMP Programme.
    • Launched by: It has been launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
    • Implementing agency: Its implementing agency is National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC). 
    • Aim: It aims to provide end-to-end e-commerce support to Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), enabling them to participate effectively in digital commerce ecosystems through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
    • It seeks to empower artisans, home-based entrepreneurs, local manufacturers and small retailers by providing structured institutional support across every stage of e-commerce participation.
    • Features: 
      • It enables MSMEs to leverage the e-commerce marketplace.
      • It helps MSMEs to widen their customer base and increase their income.
      • It bolsters the credibility of MSMEs by establishing their digital presence and transaction history. 
      • With use of digital technologies, it reduces the cost of doing business. 
      • It promotes inclusivity by ensuring that 50% of participating businesses are women-led. 
      • It plans to increase awareness by conducting over 150 workshops in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
