The states’ startup ranking for 2022 was released by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal recently.
About the ranking
Released by-It is released every year by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)
Concerned Ministry-Ministry of commerce.
States Startup Ranking in 2024, 33 states and Union territories (UTs) participated in the exercise, which ranked them under five categories: best performers, top performers, leaders, aspiring leaders and emerging startup ecosystem.

| Top performers | 7 states/U. Ts -Maharashtra, Odisha and others. |
| Leaders | 8 states/U.Ts-Andhra Pradesh, Assam and others, |
| Aspiring leaders | 4 states/U.Ts-Bihar, Haryana and others |
| Emerging startups | 9 states/U. Ts-Delhi |
Aim– To evaluate the Indian startup landscape through the eyes of state policy intervention and identify state practices that accelerate ecosystem growth and development.
