News: GIFT City climbed nine places to 37th globally and entered the top 15 financial centres in Asia-Pacific in GFCI 40.

- Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 40): It provides rankings and evaluations of the future competitiveness of financial centres worldwide.
- Published by: It is published by Z/Yen Partners in collaboration with the China Development Institute (CDI).
- Started in: The GFCI has been published since 2007.
- 2026 Edition: It is the 40th edition, published in September 2026.
- Frequency: It is updated and published twice a year, in March and September.

- Global Leaders: New York leads the index, followed by London, while Hong Kong ranks third and Singapore fourth.

- Global Outlook: The report identifies digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, FinTech and deeper capital markets as priority areas.
- India’s Global Rank: GIFT City improved from 46th to 37th, gaining nine places globally.
