  • North Korea is a country in East Asia that occupies the northern part of the Korean Peninsula.
Bordering Nations
  • It is bordered by China and Russia to the north and by South Korea to the south.
Maritime Borders
  • It is bordered by the East Sea (Sea of Japan) in the east and the Yellow Sea (Korea Bay) in the west.
The 38th Parallel
  • The 38th Parallel roughly demarcated North and South Korea.
  • The two countries are now separated by a 4-km-wide Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).

  • North Korea is a land of mountains and hills separated by deep, narrow valleys
