Biography of UPSC CSE AIR 58 Kshitij Aditya Sharma

• Birth and Domicile: Kshitij Aditya Sharma was born in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, where he completed his schooling. His roots in Bhopal played a significant role in shaping his early academic and personal growth. 

• Family Background: Coming from a supportive family, Kshitij’s father, Shri Vikramaditya Sharma, is a lawyer, while his mother, Mst. Rani Sharma, is a homemaker. Their encouragement and values instilled in him the discipline and determination needed to crack UPSC.

• Educational Background: Kshitij competed his 10th and 12th from Campion School, Bhopal. Continuing the legacy of his father, he completed his graduation Law and pursued BA LLB (Hons) from prestigious NALSAR, hyderabad in 2019. 

• Previous year experience: Before UPSC, Kshitij worked as Legal Associate at Trilegal, Maharashtra, gaining corporate law experience. Balancing a demanding job with UPSC preparation showcased his time management skills.

• UPSC Preparation Journey: Kshitij’s journey was marked by persistence. He took three attempts before securing AIR 58 in UPSC CSE 2022. His strategy included leveraging his legal expertise by choosing Law as his optional subject and writing the exam in English.

• Optional Subjects: His strong legal background helped him choose Law as hisoptional, contributing significantly to his high rank. 

• Curricular and Extracurricular Achievements: Beyond academics, Kshitij has won a student exchange scholarship to Reichman University, Israel. He was also the MP state winner in the Shaastra Quiz, IIT Madras, in 2014.  Kshitij persues hobbies such as Hath Yoga, reading non-fiction, and learning languages.
