News: Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture chaired a review meeting of the Department of Land Resources on progress under key initiatives, including DILRMP 3.0 and the Land Stack Initiative.

About Land Stack Initiative

  • The Land Stack is envisaged as an integrated, GIS-based digital platform to provide single-window access to land and property information for both citizens and government agencies.
  • Launched by: It has been launched by the Ministry of Rural Development.
  • It was launched under the Digital India Land Record Modernisation Programme (DILRMP).
  • It seeks to build an interoperable digital ecosystem for land governance, integrating various land-related databases.
  • Benefits of Land Stack:
    • The Land Stack portal enables informed decision-making by citizens through integrated access to land-related information.
    • It enhances citizen convenience, transparency and trust.
    • It reduces the risk of inadvertent purchase of unauthorised or non-compliant properties.
    • It improves inter-departmental coordination and supports data-driven governance.
    • It represents a significant e-Governance reform in land administration.
About DILRMP 3.0

Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) 3.0

  • DILRMP is an initiative to modernise the management of Land Records, minimise the scope of land/property disputes and enhance transparency in the land records maintenance system.
  • Scheme Type: It is a central sector scheme launched in 2016 under the Ministry of Rural Development.
  • It envisages modernization and digitization of land records infrastructure across the country.
  • Components: Key components include:
    • Computerisation of land records
    • Modernisation of tehsil-level record rooms
    • Georeferencing and assignment of Unique Land Parcel Identification Numbers (ULPIN)
    • Aadhaar seeding, mobile number and address integration in land records databases
    • Computerisation of revenue courts and their integration with land records systems
    • Development of Core GIS and Land Stack software
    • Implementation of pilot projects for urban land records mapping.
