News: The National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) Scheme is strengthening entrepreneurship among SC/ST communities through capacity building, mentorship, market access, and business accelerator programmes.

  • The National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) Scheme promotes entrepreneurship and strengthens the capacity of SC/ST entrepreneurs.
  • Initiative By: The scheme is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
  • Implemented by: The scheme is implemented by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), under the Ministry of MSME.
  • Aim: The scheme aims to enhance the capacity of SC/ST entrepreneurs, promote entrepreneurship, and support their participation in public procurement to achieve the mandated 4% procurement target.
  • Details of the Programs: There are two separate programs for wards (aspiring) and existing entrepreneurs.
    • Business Accelerator Programme: This programme supports existing SC/ST entrepreneurs with more than six months of business experience through mentorship, business strategy, market opportunities, and scaling support.
    • Entrepreneurship Programme: This programme helps aspiring entrepreneurs by providing mentoring and training to convert business ideas into prototypes that can be presented for early-stage financing.
  • Key Features:
    • Capacity Building: The scheme provides training in financial management, tender participation, pricing strategies, and regulatory compliance to improve business readiness.
    • Business Support: It offers financial assistance, market linkages, credit support, Udyam registration, GeM onboarding, and exhibition participation.
    • Entrepreneurship Promotion: The scheme develops self-employment opportunities, strengthens business networks, and supports technology upgradation.
    • Inclusive Growth: The scheme encourages greater participation of SC/ST enterprises in government procurement and strengthens the MSME ecosystem.
