  • Totapuri is an indigenous South Indian mango variety that is widely valued for its juice and pulp.
  • Alternative Names: It is also known as Ginimoothi, Sandersha and Banglora.
  • Cultivated in: Totapuri mangoes are mainly cultivated in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
  • Characteristics:
    • Physical Features: Totapuri is a prominent juicy mango cultivar with an elongated shape, a distinct parrot beak-like tip, greenish-yellow skin and edible skin with minimal bitterness.
    • Nutritional Value: It is rich in Vitamins C and A and contains calcium, potassium, magnesium and antioxidants that support immunity, eye, bone, muscle and skin health.
    • Uses: It is widely used for juice, pulp extraction and mango drinks and is highly preferred by food processing industries.
  • Growing Conditions:
    • Climate: Totapuri grows best in tropical climates with warm to high temperatures, dry summers and moderate rainfall.
    • Soil: It thrives in well-drained loamy soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH.
